Mr. Bitterman was contacted and arrived within minutes to complete the necessary forms and collect his prize. June AP Shoot

The results of the last Shoot can be viewed at the bottom of the page. COF1 - Suburban, COF2 - Target at gunpoint, COF3 - Dogs, and COF4 - Big. There seemed to be a little confusion on my part as to the "FTN" on COF3 - no "FTN's" were added into the Stage 3 scores.
Thanks for joining us at the range on Fathers Day! Hope to see all of you back again next month for the "Low Light/No Light Shoot". You'll need extra batteries...

Upcoming AP Shoot

OK Shooters, the next AP Shoot is scheduled for the 21st of June. Handguns only this time.

Start time: 10:00am and 1:00pm
COF's: 4 (maybe more)
Minimum Round Count: 50 per Division (bring extra)

For those of you interested in shooting more than one division, I would suggest that you show up and shoot the 10:00am start and then shoot the 1:00pm start with a second handgun. No, you wont have to pay another entry fee for the second gun, $10 gets you in for the day.
The need for concealment garments will be determined by the weather that day (if it's 110 degrees don't plan on needing or using a jacket). Also, the young lady in charge of the concession stand will be out of town next Sunday. I'm not sure if anyone will be selling sodas, bottled water, or candy bars at the range - plan accordingly.

I did a fair amount of shooting this past weekend in GI and also in NP. I had a great time in both places, met many people and ran into some old friends. One thing that I'd like to pass on to you shooters is this: It takes practice to become proficient. "Perfect practice makes perfect" and if you don't believe that your skills with firearms are perishable, you can take it from me that they are in fact "perishable". Keep practicing.
I realized (or was at least reminded) this past weekend that there are different types of "shooters" as well as "shooting games" out there. I was able to take part in 2 different types of games this weekend and learned much. My opinion of "shooters" hasn't changed, they are still one of the greatest bunch of people you can be around, always willing to help you out if you have questions or problems of any kind on and off the range. If you get the chance to try out a different game please do so. I can't promise you that you will always enjoy the new "game", but I will say with certainty that you'll not find a better crowd of people to stand with.

Regards,

JV

M4 A3 Bushmaster Raffle

As of Tuesday evening there were 3 tickets left to be sold. The club is planning on drawing the winning ticket on the 21st at the AP Shoot. So join us at the range for a little AP Shoot and if you were lucky enough to get a raffle ticket, a chance to take home that "Evil Black Rifle".

June AP Shoot

Scheduled for June 21, 2009. There will be 2 start times and you are welcome to join us for either and or both. Say you just bought yourself a sweet new revolver and really want to see how it runs but you shoot your semi-auto really well and don't want to leave it at home. The solution? Revolver at 10:00am and the semi-auto at 1:00pm. Some of you have requested being able to shoot 2 classes so here you go. Bring what you've got and shoot what you brought!
I'm still putting my final "touches" on the COF's (Courses of Fire) because the ones from my source are too easy and don't require shooters to use their "weak hand". As of right now there will be at least 4 of them and a "Minimum Round Count" of 50. You know by now to bring a little extra ammo with you.
Don't be afraid. See you on the 21st!
