If you aren't currently a member of the NRA you probably should be. If your biggest issue with joining the oldest, biggest, and strongest lobby for the rights of American gun owners has been the $35 membership, well, your going to need another excuse. The NRA wants members and wants them now so they are giving away 1 year memberships. FREE 1 YEAR MEMBERSHIPS TO THE NRA. If you are reading this you are skilled enough to follow the link below and take a few seconds to join. If it's the seemingly constant flow of NRA "junk mail" that you don't like dealing with you can just call them and request that they stop sending it to you. Easy. So, if you aren't a member of the NRA and have made it this far and still don't want to join that's entirely up to you. The only excuse you have left is that you are lazy.

3-Gun Results
They can be found at the bottom of this page. Thanks again to the shooters for doing a great job! Hope to see you again next month - June AP Shoot information to follow...
May 3-Gun Shoot
Last Sunday's 3-Gun was a success - 5 COF's, 19 shooters, many rounds finding their intended targets, and only 1 round finding the "hostage" in the hallway...
We experienced a couple of "firearm malfunctions" which were quickly cleared, and had a M1 Carbine "give up the ghost" while running the rifle COF - the shooter was able to borrow a M1 Garand and complete the stage.
We had a couple of new shooters with us and I would like to thank them for showing up and participating - I hope all of you enjoyed the day and COF's as much I did!
I'd like to thank all of you who shot with us and a BIG thank you to those of you who helped out behind the scenes with the setup, RSO duties, scoring, and tear-down - I couldn't do it without you!
I'll be working on tallying the results and getting them entered into the system today. Check back for the results - you'll be able to see them here soon.
We will be having another AP Shoot on June 21, 2009 - mark it on your calendar, we'd like you to join us at the range.

2 or 3-Gun Shoot this Sunday
When: Sunday May 17, 2009
Where: The MNRPC Range
Bring a Handgun and at least 50 rounds (more if you want). Bring a Shotgun and at least 22 rounds of lead birdshot (they come in boxes of 25).
I know that there are a few of you out there that would like to participate in the 3-Gun Shoots but are missing the semi-auto, mag fed, "fighting" type rifle/carbine (you could buy a ticket and try to win the Bushmaster...). We designed the "Rifle Stage" to be shot with a rifle/carbine or handgun, so if you plan on shooting it with the handgun you need to bring an extra 20 rounds of handgun ammo.
5 Stages/COF's
Start Times 10:00a.m. and 1:00p.m - this is something new that we are going to try at the AP Shoots. Hopefully this will accomplish two things: 1) shorten the time the shooters wait between COF's and 2) Allow those of you wanting to run two different "Divisions" to do so.
Cold Range rules in effect!
New shooters are always welcome!
Email me your questions or comments regarding the AP Shoot at mnrpclub@gmail.com
Looking forward to seeing all of you at the range!

May AP Shoot will be a "3-Gun"
Start Times: 10:00a.m.
1:00p.m.
COF's: 5
Minimum Round Count: Handgun 44 rounds (bring extra)
Shotgun 22 rounds (bring extra)
Rifle/Carbine 20 rounds (bring extra)
Please note that there are now 2 Start Times - if you can get to the range and be ready to engage targets by 10:00a.m. please do so. We will still also be starting at our usual time of 1:00p.m.
Questions and comments welcome below. More information will be added soon.
Edit - Because we would rather have you join us at the range than stay home because you might not have what you might consider the desired "shooting equipment", shooters will be given the option of using a handgun on the "Rifle Stage" Sunday. We will have a different starting position (a little closer to the targets) for those who chose to run their favorite handgun instead of a rifle or carbine. Keep in mind that the level-of-difficulty on this stage will be the same whether you use a rifle or handgun (difficult - maybe I should have used a different descriptive word because as all of you know by now my COF's are far from difficult, right?). You will need to bring a shotgun because there is no way to get around it (you'll see what I mean when you get here). Maybe I should call these shoots "2 or 3 Gun"...
A reminder for everyone: The Shotgun Stages/COF's need to be run with 'Lead Shot' and would get very exciting if any of you shoot at the steel poppers with 'Steel Shot' - 71/2 or 8 shot will be fine. Think cheap - I believe Wally-World still sells 100 round 'value packs' for $22 (that is enough ammo for 4 "2 or 3 Gun" Shoots!). If you are in need of ammo (or a firearm) for these AP Shoots please get a hold of Roger or Rick Larson at Custer County Firearms.
Finally, there is a chance that we will be drawing the winning raffle ticket at this AP Shoot - as soon as all of the tickets are sold we will be giving that Bushmaster away. Buy a ticket or two.

MNRP Club Raffle

As many of you know, the MNRP Club is selling raffle tickets for the chance to win a Bushmaster AR15, a "M4A3 Type Patrolman's Carbine" if I remember correctly. Someone take the time to confirm or correct this for me in the "comments" please.
As of today we have a few tickets left to sell - for those of you still needing a ticket or two (you all need a ticket or two), get a hold of a MNRP Club member and get yours soon. We are only selling a set amount of tickets and when they are gone we are drawing the winner. The winner of the Bushmaster will have to complete the correct forms (4473) and must be able to legally own this firearm.
Buy a ticket.
May Meeting
Tuesday May 12, 2009 at 7:00p.m.
If the weather cooperates we will be holding the meeting at the MNRPC Range - if it is raining (or has been and the range is muddy) we will be at Huck's Hideout in Broken Bow. I have invited Matt Gibbs to attend the meeting and tell us about "Project Appleseed" and what it is that they are doing. I for one am eager to hear more about it and what it is that we can do to get involved with the organization. You don't know about "Project Appleseed"? Well, check it out at:
http://www.appleseedinfo.org/
Mr. Gibbs has attended an "Appleseed" function and will have some first hand knowledge and be able to answer your questions. We are going to be discussing the opportunity of hosting one of these events at our range. Please take the time to attend this meeting.
