Friends of the NRA
The Friends of the NRA will be holding their annual banquet on Saturday May 2, 2009. Buy a ticket. Enjoy some great food and conversation - maybe even win a prize! Hope to see you there at the Broken Bow Municipal Building on Saturday evening.
Pin Shoot! May 3, 2009
Join us at the range for the MNRPC's first Pin Shoot of the season. We will have divisions to accommodate any shooters skill level and as well as just about any handgun you'd like to use. Seriously. We're that kind of club. Heck, we even give out trophies to the winners of each division!
The Pin Shoot starts at 1:00p.m. but those of you wishing to get a little practice in can do so between 12:00p.m. - 1:00p.m.
Hope to see you at the range!

April Action Shoot "Collateral Damage?"
We had a lot of fun in our group discussing what to do about the "Hostage" in front of the Suburban.
Here are a couple of peoples "Solutions"
April AP Shoot Results
Until I can figure out a better way, you'll have to scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the posted results. The pictures and videos will be online shortly (Larry, I counted the brass in the pic after your last stage and I don't think you're holding all of it). You can still comment on the scores here.
We will be having another AP Shoot in May. Stay tuned for the specifics.

A new Poll Question
Not here. Over there to the left side of the page. We want to know what you think.
April AP Shoot
The April AP Shoot is 'In the Books'. Thanks to all of those who took the time to join us and a big thanks to those who helped with the set-up and tear-down - never the funnest part of the day! I would have to say that the AP Shoot was a success and I know I had a great time and am looking forward to the next one.
I'd like to take a second and point out some of the different things that you 'shooters' encountered during the day (even if you didn't realize it at the time) and hopefully give you some ideas of what to work on while practicing on your own time between the 'Shoots': shooting while moving, using cover correctly, shooting around cover, shooting at "Center Of Mass" (T-shirts), shooting at targets partially hidden by hard cover, room/building clearing ("slicing the pie"), the "hostage rescue" shot, and the now infamous "my house is not that big" longer distance shot! You may have even learned a thing or two about yourself and your gear, I know I did.
I hope that all of you had as much fun as I did and that you are able to join us again at the next AP Shoot!

Winter Storm Warning...
The scheduled Pin Shoot for April has been, well, unscheduled. Canceled. The first Pin Shoot of 2009 will happen in May.
The forecast for this weekend looks great if you are a penguin or polar bear... 5 - 10 inches of snow and 55mph wind gusts. You know, Global Warming. Stay inside. Stay warm. Go reload something for the AP Shoot scheduled for April 19th, 2009.
More to come...

A Reminder
Did I mention that the first Pin Shoot of the year is happening on Sunday afternoon? It is. Sunday April 5, 2009 at 1:00p.m.
Don't worry about the weather (this may be the best time for some of us to win a trophy as Larry, Roger, Doc, and Dave just keep getting faster as the season progresses). There are several "Divisions" to consider shooting in, from "Novice" to "Open", and as always all are welcome to show up and shoot with us.
Divisions: Rim fire revolver and semi-auto, center fire revolver, and center fire semi-auto (we are working on a possible 'slug' division as well to be shot with your favorite shotgun/slug combo - stay tuned).
Questions? You can leave them in the 'comments' below or email us.

Friday afternoon
The weather guys say that Friday will be the nicest day of the week and I can only guess how much you are looking forward to getting out and enjoying the day - see you at the range for the "Clean-up Day".
We will be getting the MNRPC Range ready for the upcoming Shooting Events so bring whatever tools you might think helpful. I recommend you bring a pair of gloves at the very least, maybe a trash bag or two as well. It seems that we have had some members/guests leave quite a bit of junk there that has either blown out of the trash cans or left on the ground after being used for targets...
Locating and resetting the steel targets downrange and minor repairs to anything needing it will also be accomplished.
I will be addressing 'proper range behavior' here in the near future. If you'd like a "sneak peak" of what is coming you can look through your MNRPC Bylaws - you know, the folder of information you received when you joined the club.
We are looking forward to the upcoming Shoots! Hope to see you Friday at the range.
